The team, which is comprised of players employed on different elements of the project, went on to play the Mayo Teachers in their next outing and, in a very competitive game, managed to win by 0-10 to 0-8.

That win ensured the team was crowned Mayo champions. The team now goes on to contest the Connacht (provincial) championship final in which they will meet the winners of the Galway v Roscommon semi-final.

The Inter-Firms championship is an official competition organised under the auspices of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is played at county, provincial and All-Ireland level and teams are drawn from companies, businesses and professions working in the competing counties.

The team is managed by former Mayo football star Colm McManamon (Mercury) and is captained by Henry McLoughlin (Operations). A number of players from the successful Cill Chomáin (junior county champions) and Kiltane (Connacht Intermediate champions) teams are included in the squad.
