Workshop sessions during the week included Tourism Marketing, Strategic Marketing and Business Development, Business Communications, Social Media/Digital Marketing and Finance and Business Administration. In addition to these group events, many of the expert speakers gave one-to-one sessions, which proved extremely popular.

Feedback from the 70+ people who participated was very positive, and the week is likely to be repeated in the community next year, according to SEPIL’s Community Investment Advisor Fiona Togher.

“Speaking to the participants at the various events, many commented in particular on the fact that the enterprise sessions took place in Erris, as it made attendance much easier. The feedback we received on the evaluation forms that were given out at each session was all very positive and encouraging.

“This was something we had not tried before so we did not know quite what to expect. But the responses certainly indicated that the participants got a lot of value from the various sessions.”

The week was officially kicked off with a motivational address by Sue Stockdale – internationally-recognised author, businesswoman, entrepreneur and executive coach – who regaled the audience with stories of adventure, goal-setting, self-discovery and achievement.

A €5,000 package of business supports was on offer as a prize for all who participated and the winner was Erris Beo, the Erris tourism promotion company.
