Originally from Cork, Ronan is a graduate of University College Cork (UCC) and subsequently took his Masters in Petroleum Geology at Aberdeen University in the UK.

Since joining Shell in 1990, he has held a variety of roles in the Netherlands, Gabon, Australia, China and Dubai.

Most recently, Ronan was based in Moscow where he led Shell’s upstream commercial activities in Central Asia.

Ronan’s predecessor, Michael Crothers has relocated to Calgary in Canada having assumed a senior leadership role within Shell’s North America division.

A Chemical Engineer by background, Michael has worked for Shell for over 27 years and was Managing Director of SEPIL from 2011 to 2015.
