Production Operations and Maintenance Technicians
30/07/2007
The Corrib Gas Project enters another important phase this week, with Shell E&P Ireland Ltd (SEPIL) advertising for applications for Production Operations and Maintenance Technicians for the onshore gas processing terminal at Bellanaboy Bridge. There are 25 of these particular positions available at the terminal for people from a pharmaceutical, power generation, manufacturing, chemical or marine background.
These jobs will provide outstanding challenges with the potential for international careers to the successful candidates. SEPIL will provide full industry training, which will take place onsite in Ireland as well as in the UK and the Netherlands.
At present, work continues on leveling the site before full-scale construction of the terminal facilities begins. At peak construction in 2008, the jobs figure in the locality will reach almost 700.
Construction of the terminal facilities will take approximately two years. During this time, the successful job candidates will receive their training and be based on site at Bellanaboy from the end of 2008. "We look forward to receiving applications from people who enjoy working in a technologically advanced and challenging environment," said Terry Nolan, Deputy MD, SEPIL. "While there may not be many people from this area currently working in the oil and gas industry, there are certainly people working in other areas of interest to us. Given the extensive training involved, these positions, could lead to long-term careers, not only within Ireland, but also overseas, and present an exciting opportunity to anyone looking to enter the oil and gas industry".
The closing date for receipt of applications is 31 August 2007.
