The Corrib Gas Partners note the Shell to Sea statement issued today regarding the development of the Corrib Field.
06/11/2006
Since Corrib Gas was discovered in 1996, the project has been through a comprehensive and rigorous consents and planning process.
The location of the gas processing terminal at Bellanaboy was approved after three and a half years in the planning process, which included three weeks of public hearings and two appeals to An Bord Pleanala.
Any suggestion that an alternative to Bellanaboy as a site for the gas processing terminal could now be considered as unrealistic.
The Corrib Gas Partners are committed to modifying the onshore pipeline route and have indicated that landowner agreement and community acceptance are key elements of this route selection process.
The Corrib Gas Partners are willing to engage with any interested party, including Shell to Sea, with a view to identifying the optimum modified route.
