Bernie McManamon hails from Erris in North Mayo. When she qualified with her degree in civil engineering in 2011, she got a paid internship on the Corrib gas project, located just four kilometres from her home place.  The internship turned into a full-time job. For Bernie, working on Corrib, the biggest energy infrastructure project ever undertaken in Ireland – has been a dream start to her engineering career.
