Shell E&P Ireland Limited Shortlisted for CSR Awards
Chambers Ireland has announced the shortlist for the 2010 Corporate Social Responsibility (‘CSR’) Awards and Shell E&P Ireland Limited (‘SEPIL’) has been nominated in the multinational corporation category for its Driver Safety Awareness Programme for staff and contractors working on the Corrib project.
Now in their seventh year, the Awards continue to go from strength to strength with this year’s applications reaching a record high level – up 25% on last year. The Awards are partnered with Business in the Community Ireland and run in association with the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs.
Seán Murphy, Chambers Ireland Deputy Chief Executive said, “Given the challenges that Irish businesses continue to face, it is remarkable to see so many businesses do so many great things. All of these companies from SME through to MNC’s are making real differences in their communities, on their environmental impact and with their many stakeholders. It is this commitment underpinned by CSR best practice that will play a key role in restoring Ireland’s competitiveness in the future.”
A total of 12 Awards will be presented by an independent judging panel that will announce its decision in September 2010.
