Artec achieves top standards
Artec Construction, the Erris based facilities management company, continues to set standards of excellence in its operations at the Bellanaboy Bridge Gas terminal.
Last year the company of which Sean Keane is the Managing Director, achieved ISO accreditation 9001:2008 in Quality Management Systems. And now the company has achieved accreditation in Environmental Management Systems and in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
All three awards are global ratings developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation and provides an international reference for quality management requirements as well as monitoring the regulatory obligations of the company’s business.
Artec has been on the site at Bellanaboy since September 2006 and has a workforce of 43 most of which come from the Erris area. The accreditations demonstrate the company’s efficient and reliable working procedures and reflect a continued dedication to ongoing improvements in carrying out their contracts on the site.
Artec MD Sean Keane said he was extremely proud of his dedicated and hard working staff without whom it would have been impossible to achieve such accreditations. “We constantly monitor and update our procedures and systems and strive to make a safe, quality-driven and environmentally friendly workplace for our staff,” he said.
Mr Keane also thanked all his suppliers and fellow contractors for their support and paid a special tribute to Shell and Project Management (PM) “for giving us the opportunity in the first instance to develop our management, safety and quality control systems and then assisting and mentoring us in achieving these standards.”
