The history of Shell in Ireland dates back almost a hundred years when the company set up its first headquarters in Ireland at Alexandra Road, Dublin. We now operate from our offices in Corrib House, 52 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 2.
Our core values of honesty, integrity and respect for people form the basis of the Shell General Business Principles.
Our business activities in Ireland
The exploration and production business and, specifically, the development of the Corrib natural gas project, is a key part of Shell’s operations in Ireland. Shell's other businesses in Ireland – aviation fuel and chemicals.
In July 2005, Shell announced that it had signed sale and purchase agreements with Topaz Distribution and Logistics for the divestment of the majority of Shell’s oil products businesses in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The agreements relate to Shell’s retail, commercial fuels, lubricants, marine, and supply and distribution businesses.
The divestment of the oil products business is consistent with Shell’s international strategy of ‘more upstream businesses and profitable downstream businesses’.
